Don’t Know Squat? That’s OK!

For years I dreaded tax season. You probably don’t enjoy doing your taxes either. However, it wasn’t the chore of getting together all of the previous year’s financial information that kept me up at night. The real terror was the gut-wrenching fear that hit every time my phone lit up with my accountant’s name on the screen.

Lesley and I got them everything they asked for, organized the way they asked for it, both digitally and hard copies. Without fail the accountant wouldn’t be satisfied with something, and would call to let me know it. They would ask, “why don’t you know how to do this?!”

Finally, after several years of this pattern, instead of simply saying “I don’t know” to move on, I replied, “because I’m not an accountant”, and I gave him a parallel fitness example. I explained that when someone comes into our gym, and doesn’t know how to squat, we don’t ask them, “why don’t you know how to do this?” It’s our job to help them, to show them how to do it, and continue working with them to improve. We use different approaches and coaching techniques to suit each individual, and maximize their progress.

Whether you’re new to our program, or an experienced CrossFitter, we make no assumptions. You need guidance to get started, and guidance to keep going. We’re here to help you start off on the right foot and sustain your success with motivation, accountability, and coaching. We value education, teaching and learning, and take pride in giving step-by-step instructions in every class we coach.

If you’re just beginning your fitness journey, bored with your current routine, or you’re trying to break through a particular plateau, we’re here to meet you where you’re at, and take the next steps together.

I’m no tax pro, but I can definitely teach you how to squat, and absolutely help you improve your health and fitness.
