“The greatest adaptation to CrossFit takes place between the ears.”
— Greg Glassman, CrossFit Founder
When people start CrossFit, they usually have physical goals in mind. They want to lose weight, get stronger, improve their fitness, or simply feel healthier.
But something else happens along the way.
You start doing things you didn’t think you could do. You become more comfortable being uncomfortable. You learn that you’re capable of more than you thought. And little by little, the way you think about yourself begins to change.
That’s what Greg Glassman meant when he said, “The greatest adaptation to CrossFit takes place between the ears.”
Mabel’s experience at CrossFit 781 is a perfect example.
It Starts With Physical Goals
When Mabel started at CrossFit 781, she was looking for help staying motivated to become stronger and have more energy.
As a mom who also works and attends school, Mabel discovered that the benefits of consistent exercise go far beyond physical changes.
She says:
“This community has pushed me to challenge myself, believe in myself, and show up even on the days when I don’t feel my best.”
Showing up when you feel great is easy. Showing up when you’re tired, stressed, busy, or simply don’t feel like working out is where something really important starts to happen. You prove to yourself that you can do hard things.
Getting Stronger Is About More Than Muscle
One of the things I love about CrossFit is watching people accomplish something they once thought was impossible.
Maybe it’s their first pull-up, lifting a heavier barbell, completing a workout they didn’t think they could finish, or simply walking through the gym doors after a long day when they really didn’t want to. Every one of those moments builds confidence.
Mabel describes becoming “stronger, more confident, and more disciplined,” but says the biggest difference has been in her mental well-being.
That’s the adaptation that happens between the ears.
A Supportive Community Makes a Difference
Mabel also talks about another important part of her experience:
“CrossFit 781 has become a place where I can leave the stress of everyday life at the door, focus on myself, and be surrounded by people who encourage and support me.”
That’s what we want CrossFit 781 to be.
We want you to get stronger, improve your fitness, move better, and reach your physical goals. But we also want the gym to be a place where you can take an hour for yourself, disconnect from the rest of the day, and spend time with people who want to see you succeed.
You don’t have to be the fittest or strongest person in the class. You just have to show up and be willing to work. Your coach will take care of the rest.
CrossFit Is About Becoming More Capable
The physical changes are easy to see. You lift more weight. You move better. Your endurance improves. Your clothes fit differently.
The mental changes can be harder to measure. You’re more confident. More disciplined. You trust yourself more. You don’t give up as easily. You learn that being uncomfortable doesn’t mean you need to stop.
Those changes can have a huge impact on your life outside the gym.
That’s why Mabel’s review means so much to us. She summed it up perfectly:
“CrossFit 781 is more than just a gym; it has become an important part of my life and my journey toward becoming the best version of myself.”
That’s what we’re after.
Not just helping you become stronger physically, but helping you discover what you’re capable of.
Because while you may come to CrossFit 781 to get stronger, lose weight, or improve your fitness, you might be surprised by just how much can change between the ears.
